MAKING A DIFFERENCE TOGETHER

Regular People Just Doing Good for Others In Need
At Just Doing Good, our mission is simple:
Connect people who want to help with people who need help.
We believe that generosity has the power to change lives, strengthen communities, and create lasting impact. Sometimes the greatest difference isn't made through large organizations or complicated programs, it's made when ordinary people choose to help their neighbors.
Just Doing Good was created to help connect generous individuals, churches, families, and communities with meaningful opportunities to make a direct difference in the lives of others.
People often ask why our first project focuses on helping communities in Mexico.
The answer is personal.
With family roots that are deeply connected to Mexico, over the years, Mexico has become much more than a place we visit. It has become a second home.
We spend significant time there visiting both family by blood and the family we've been blessed to build through years of friendships and relationships. The people we have come to know throughout Mexico have touched our hearts in ways we never expected.
Every time we visit, we are reminded of something important.
Many of the communities we encounter live with far fewer material resources than most Americans take for granted. It is not uncommon for multiple generations of a family to share a small living space. Some homes lack conveniences that many of us consider basic necessities.
Yet despite these challenges, we consistently encounter extraordinary generosity, hospitality, resilience, and joy.
We've been welcomed into homes where families had very little, yet still offered us a meal.
We've witnessed neighbors helping neighbors without expecting anything in return.
We've seen communities come together to support one another during difficult times.
Those experiences have profoundly shaped our perspective. They remind us that happiness is not measured by possessions. True wealth is often found in family, faith, friendship, community, purpose, and connection.
Our Current Initiative: Watch the video of their Story
This small Christian church serves a humble community of local Mexican and Indigenous Mayan families. In a region where many people face significant financial challenges, the church has become a place of faith, hope, prayer, fellowship, and support.
The reality facing this congregation is difficult.
The church currently has no permanent roof over much of its worship space.
When it rains, services are often disrupted or canceled.
During the hottest months of the year, the heat can make worship services extremely challenging.
The pastor receives no salary whatsoever.
Members of the congregation sometimes sell personal belongings, organize small community fundraisers, or make significant personal sacrifices simply to help keep the church operating and pay basic expenses such as electricity.
Despite these challenges, the congregation continues to gather faithfully and support one another.
The average local income on the island is often only a fraction of what many families earn in the United States. Many households consist of multiple generations sharing small living spaces. Yet even in difficult circumstances, the generosity, faith, and resilience of this community continue to inspire us.
This church is real.
These are real people.
And if you ever visit Isla Mujeres, you are welcome to attend a service, meet the congregation, and experience this remarkable community for yourself.
To help ensure transparency, we personally filmed footage of the church, the island, and interviews with both the pastor and assistant pastor so supporters can see firsthand where donations are intended to make an impact.

Between rain, heat, bugs, wild local animals, and the music of local neighboring homes, conducting service without a roof presents many challenges.
